How grounding works.
Retrieval runs inside the governance plane. Sources, permissions and citations are not optional extras.

Approved sources only
Retrieval runs over the contracts, policies, records and documents your organisation designates. Nothing else enters the answer.

Permissions at query time
People and agents retrieve only what they are allowed to see. Masking applies before the model does.

Citations carried back
Every claim links to the contract, policy or record behind it. Anyone can check the evidence.

Honest when unsure
When the evidence isn't there, the answer says so instead of guessing.
What grounding changes
Decisions rest on your contracts and policies, not on a model's general impression. The same question gets different answers for different people, exactly as your permissions intend. And every answer is auditable: what was retrieved, by whom, for which claim.
